Southall

Today we went to Southall, 30 mins travel from Reading (the place we stay) by train. Southall is place where you feel that you are in India. 90% of the people there are Indians that too mostly Punjabis. Places like Reading will be quite even you cannot hear horn sounds. They call that as sound pollution. But in southall you can see songs playing at peak sounds in cars, shops everywhere. We roamed there and took few snaps. I uploaded the pictures in Y! Photos

First Flight Travel

Yet another special day in my life. Yes, today for the first time in my life I travelled in flight. From Bangalore i travelled to London to work from the client place. The flight is at 06:30 and i started at 03:00 from home. Once all the formalities done, at 06:15 me and my team lead boarded the British Airways flight. At 12:30 BST we reached London. The place is really good, very classical. Yet more to come.

On My bday

I am blogging after long time. Yesterday was my birthday and i turn 23 years. This year birthday was my best birthday of all. I woke up at 9:00 (too late on a bday). I started receiving calls from 12:00 Midnight. In the morning me and my cousins did some House Cleaning works and in the afternoon, me and my cousin Nandu went to Marathahalli for Shopping. We got some shirts and pants and went to Jayanagar, roamed there. At 7:00 i returned home where everything is set for function. This is my first birthday with cake cutting and all. After the celebrations at home we went to Hyderabad Briyani at M.G Road. We enjoyed a lot there and returned to home at 11:00. The most happiest day come to an end. Almost all of my college mates, school mates called me and wished yesterday :) I got the maximum number of calls yesterday :D

Madurai trip || Birth of the Year - 2006

I went to Madurai on December 29th and 30th. On 29th Evening i reached college and met senthil. He took me to the newly setted CCC Lab at college. The Lab is really fine and the thing which i needed when i studied in college had been granted i.e 24 hrs Lab :) The CCC Lab had the newly bought HP servers, Blade Servers, NAS Box, SAN Box and many more. But as usual, most of the students using the system for checking mails. The admin of the lab really worried about this. Students must use this kind of opportunity for some good things not only for checking mails. That night me, senthil and praveen had a discussion about the current New TCENet development. On Friday i went to college to collect the Provisional Certificate and there i met the newly joined TCENet students. Had a nice chat with them. Started from madurai that night and reached Dharmapuri. Started to Bangalore on Saturday for celebrating new year 2006.
For the last 4 year i celebrated the New year in Hostel and this year in Bangalore at Uncle's house.
We bought cakes, cool drink to celebrate the new year. Exactly at 12:00, my cousin sliced the cake. The next moment most of the cake creams was in the face of us. Till 2'0 clock the celebration continues with dancing, chatting. In short we enjoyed a lot for this new year.
On Jan 1st evening me and my cousins went to Market show in Cox town. The next day the as usual routine starts.

Installed Debian GNU/Linux

After some struggle i am able to install GNU/Linux. I got the new Debian Sarge 14 CDs when i went to Madurai for FStival. After long time i am installing the GNU/Linux. I faced few problems while installing which i never faced before. The first one is the installation of GRUB to the boot partition is failed. When checking i found that bootable flag for /boot partition is set to false. So i changed the bootable flag to true. I dont know whether thats the real solution but it works. This is the first time i created separate partition for boot since Joe told me that it might be necessary if Debian is installed in 80 GB HDD. After that installation went smooth and the Debian Base System was installed. I logged into a GNU/Linux machine after long time (almost after 6 months). The second problem was i am not able to configure the source for apt. when i entered /dev/cdrom as device file for CDROM, error thrown as /dev/cdrom is not a block file. When tried to mount the cdrom using /dev/cdrom file "open failed" error shown. So, i started googling for the solution and found a valuable solution from Linuxquestions.org . As from the instructions i tried to give /dev/hdb as CDROM device file and it worked. I dont know how my previous installations when i was in college went fine when i enter /dev/cdrom for CDROM. Then the installation got over and i am able to login to my GNU box. Spent a little time with that and felt happy to work in GNU box again.

Early Morning Dream...

There is a belief that early morning Dream comes true. But I don't know how this dream going to be true. I don't remember the exact dream, just blogging some pieces of the dream. I am walking down for the first day of the school. I was roaming in the school to know about my class. I entered Chemistry lab and my friends are sitting there. A staff was there and discussing with the students, the surprise in this is, she was my college lecturer. Before my dream gets completion my alarm started to wake me up. Every one, who had a nice time in school will enjoy being back to those days. I am not a exceptional one. Looking for a nice opportunity to meet all my school friends at school. :)

Rain played again in Chennai

This is not the first time Rain spoiling the game at Chennai. I dont understand why BCCI conducts these type of important matches in Chennai during Rainy Season. Everyone knows Chennai has monsoon during November and Decemeber. But the BCCI doesn't care about this and trying to conduct matches here during this time. This match is so important for many of them. Ganguly's come back, Dravid first Test match as a regular captain. Its big miss for all.

Festival Week

Last week was a memorable one for everyone because of festival holidays. Got leave for 3 days, most of my colleagues are off for the entire week. Since my native place is near to bangalore I didn't applied for leave, i went to home only for the holidays. I started to Dharmapuri the day before Diwali. All the Hosur bus was jam-packed, i could see people travelling in the top of the bus. On the day of Diwali me and my friends went to Sivakasi film. According to me i wasted my money and time by seeing that movie. The day went fine by chatting with friends, eating sweets..
On Friday we went to Athu oru kana kalam film. The film was slow moving but the way it shooted is quite natural. Everyone who acted in the film done their best. Hats off to Balu Mahendra for making everyone to do their best. On Saturday i returned to Bangalore. From Monday, again the normal routine work started (going to office, returning....). Its quite hard to get a holiday week again.

For the past one week i am reaching home at 8:30, starting at 6:10 from Electronic City. My home is 25 kms far from Electronic City. It tooks about an hour to reach my home when the traffic is normal. But for the past one week, traffic is very high in Bangalore. It tooks about an hour to reach Bommanahalli (8 kms from Electronic City). Its very hard to sit in the bus for two and half hours. Lot of traffic happens because of trucks break down in Hosur road. Though trucks are not allowed inside the City in the evening but no way they can stop entering in Hosur road. Recently there was proposal for elevated roads for Hosur road. That alone can solve the famous Hosur road slow moving traffic.

FStival '05

I went to Madurai on Septmeber 10, 2005 to attend FStival '05, Software Freedom Day Celebration at Thiagarajar College of Engineering organised by GLUGOT and GLUG-Madurai. Joe came there to attend the FStival '05. I see lot of changes in Joe's apperance.
The chief guest is Mr.Murali, Consultant in AU-KBC research center. His appearance makes me to wonder at him. Such a great person with long hairs and he was very simple.In the morning session, he gave a nice talk on FOSS and how FOSS is emerging in Industries. After that Demo stalls were organised. I burnt the new Debian GNU/Linux Distro.

Last year we conducted this event. This year we are just looking at it. Time is running very fast. In the afternoon, we had a formal meeting regarding changing TCENet to Phython and GNU/Linux. At 4 PM the FStival Demo Stalls are closed and we started walking. Had a nice chat with all my juniors. I was remembering lot of moments happened in College. At 7PM i went to Madurai Meenakshi amman Temple and spent some time there and started to Dharmapuri. Usually when i start to home from college i will be happy. But not this time. Unwillingly i said "Bye" to Madurai.

Got a saree for mom

Its long since iam blogging, almost after a month. Yesterday I bought a silk saree for my mom.This is my first gift to my mom with my salary. Then we went to M.G Road, had lunch at Hyderabad Briyani. Vinoth - my cousin's friend gave us the treat for buying new vehicle. Then we went to Cool joint, had ice cream. By the time we returned home it started raining. In Bangalore the climate is really superb., but we cannot predict the climate. I like the cool climate here.

My Days at Wipro

I had a very little sleep in the day before night. Wake up early in the morning and got ready. Started from my cousin house at 7:30 AM and reached Sarjarpur Office at 8:20 AM. K.N.Karthik joined me there and they verified our Mark Sheets and other Ceritificates. Free Lunch was provided ;-) And at the end of day they provided us the ID cards with Access Cards. They told us that we will have training at Electronic city's Floating Learning Center.

First Day:(27th June 2005):

I am little bit nervous about catching the bus at M.G. Road. My cousin Ashok dropped me in the bus stop. The company people told that bus with 'New Joinees' Board will pick us but no such bus came so boarded the employee's bus and reached the Electronic city at 8:35 AM. Searched Floating Learning Center and enter the class. They gave general introduction about the company's policies. In the evening we told about the Bus routes. I was asked to board the bus at Clawrence School at 7:20 AM. At the end of the day they told us the domain we are going to belong. I got Telecom and Internet Domain. Most of CSE students and ECE students got these domain. IT students got Interops and few got TIS domain.

Second Day:(28th June 2005):

I went to the bus stop near Clawrence school and waited there from 7:10 AM but no bus came there. So i waited there till 7:45 AM and went home back. My cousin Ashok dropped me at Electronic city in bike (distance is around 2o Km). When i enquired the driver of the bus in the evening they told me that they changed the bus route. The stop is very far from my uncle's house. So i decided to take another bus. The transport details in website specifies that the bus will stop at Cox Town circle.
Today we had IMPACT session, i.e how to improve our soft skills.

Third Day:(29th June 2005):

I went to that bus stop. My fate today also I missed the bus, the same story again. When i enquired they told the changed the bus route. So i find the nearest bus stop to my uncle's house which is Frazer Town Police station. Today's session is IMPACT.

Fourth Day:(30th June 2005):

For the first time i caught the bus at right place. The bus arrives to the stop at 7:35 AM and reaches Electronic city at 8:40 AM (ten minutes after official start of the day). Today's Session is IMPACT.

About Impact the session is really superb and all the students are given enough time to bring out their best. I feel very confident myself in facing the IT field now. Mr.Avinashi who handled us the class is really very interactive and he gave tips on handling tough situations.

Today's morning session is Wipro Values and After noon's session is Business Unit Induction. Morning no one came so we browsed the TEDWEB. Afternoon Anu came and explained about the Bussiness units in Telecom and Internet Domain and explained about the place of posting.

Got the Joining Date

Right from the morning i am got many good news. Today in the morning around 11 AM Karthik.G, my dear most friend called me and told that he got placed in TCS. Around 3 PM, one of my college junior called me and told that She got placed in Wipro (now my colleague). At 8 PM i just playing games in the system, i don't know what makes me to me check the mail. Because i usually check mails only after 11 PM. I got a mail from Wipro regarding the joining date.( a thing i am expecting for many days ). My training starts on June 27. I have to report on June 24. My place of training and posting will be at Bangalore. Along with me my class mates Narayanan, K.N.Karthik got the same date to join.

My B'day

Today is my birthday. I woke early in the morning. I had a nice oil bath then went to temple. Many of my Friends came to my house and wished me. Then we roamed in the streets as usual. My uncle's son got the Matriculation X results. He scored 992 / 1100, School third. I am very happy about it. Then in the evening me and my friends went to siva temple since it is prathosom. While we are returning it starts raining. We got an auto and returned to house but no use i got wet. Since it rained we didn't gone for a treat. We planned to have it on Tuesday.

A nail-biting finish for engineering students

Despite having got placements, these students had a
harrowing time

MADURAI: It was a nail-biting finish for these final
year students of the Thiagarajar College of
Engineering (TCE) in Madurai.

Despite having got placements in companies such as
Infosys, Wipro and TCS, these students with a
meritorious track record throughout had a harrowing
time days ahead of bidding adieu to their college.
Reason — they all "failed" in one subject by a huge
margin. While the marks scored in previous semesters
worked to a first class distinction score, the
"failure" in one subject left them dejected as they
would have to lose the job opportunity once for all.

The students, mostly in the Electronics and
Communication Engineering stream, got placements in
the campus interview held even before their final year
commenced. When they were packing to join the
hi-profile jobs after the final examinations, the news
of 47 of 118 students "failing" in the
`Telecommunication System' came as a jolt.

17-day trauma

After shock and agony for a couple of days, the
students put up a brave stand to demand instant
revaluation.

Taking their pitiable situation into consideration,
the college management agreed to issue a photocopy of
their answer scripts. A revaluation was done in a
couple of weeks and the results were announced.

Guess what happened? Yes, all the 100 plus students
passed with first class and above marks. Those who
scored 15 or 20 got 60 and above. "We are surprised
how the difference could be this much. The revaluation
marks usually vary between 5 and 10. But the average
difference in this case was 45 marks," says a student.

It was a miserable time for all the students and their
family members for 17 long days. Though the students
were confident that they had fared well in the
examinations, the college authorities gave them no
assurance of a positive result in the revaluation.
"Many of my classmates were almost in a state of
depression. We were told that teachers from other
colleges evaluated the papers. But how could there be
such a wide deviation in evaluation," asks another
student.

`Attitudinal aberration'

Ask the TCE Principal, V. Abhaikumar, how all this
happened, he says there is an attitudinal aberration
among the students once they got placed.

"The students got the job offer during the beginning
of the final year. There was a perceptible change in
their approach in the academic exercises and they
almost took things for granted." However, Mr.
Abhaikumar, who is also the Head of the Department of
ECE, said he was "surprised" at seeing the results.

Though an autonomous college, the TCE has an external
evaluation system where teachers from other colleges
are involved. "We are planning to revamp the
evaluation pattern. The placement programme also needs
to be postponed at least till the fag end of the final
year."

However, for the 125 students, including many girls,
it was a huge relief. They are now set to take off to
take up a challenging career from a college that has a
distinction of 100 per cent placement.

Its being a long time i blogged. After returning from bangalore, I saw many of my old school friends. We chatted together and shared about the college days incidents. I went to school to enquire about possibilites of starting Alumni Association but the response was not so great. They said, "I will send you the details to your home itself". But didn't got any info. Need to visit the school again. Roaming in the streets with friends. Waiting for the Wipro Joining date. Got the SBI kit for depositing the money. Need to start prepare for the Wipro Training.

My Final Semester Results

I got my last and final semester exam Results. I have got 8.67 GPA (661 out of 800). I am in bangalore when my results are published. I called Arun ponniah for knowing the results. For the third time i am in bangalore when my results are published. I am planning to have my medical test tommorrow.

Final touch of final day

Final day at Madurai. I vacated the hostel on April 30, my parents and my brother came to madurai to pick me up. We stayed in College House. Went to Meenakshi temple that evening. On May 1st we went to Thiruparankundram and went to Alagar Kovil, Palamuthircholai. We enjoyed a lot after long time since we didn't go anywhere for the past 6 years. So it was a enjoyable day for our family. At last one incident happened. My mom forgot to raise the car windows. After returning from temple, we found that somebody stolen our camera which was not ours, it was my friend's camera so i was disappointed :-( Getting something from a friend and losing that, it hurts a lot.

My Last Saturday Lab.

Slowly but steadily everything getting over in my college life. Last working day of College, Last Theory Exam and today is my last saturday working at Lab. We used to enjoy saturdays at lab. Today also we enjoyed a lot but this lasts today., and just today. hmmm... No more of this. The last saturday. Grr..

Got Appointment Order || Problems with Oracle 8i

Today morning i came to lab to do some preliminary cleaning works in TCENet Server. Venkatesth came to the lab and told me that I got my appointment order. I went to placement cell and got my appointment order and gave a signed copy of the order to the Placement officer and one copy is given to us to be submitted at the time of Joining. The appointment order contains Terms and conditions and Medical Certificate to be given by specified doctor. I have to go to Bangalore for medical checkup.

I tried to install Oracle 8i in our lab system. so that new development works for TCENet can be done in that system. But Oracle 8i HTTP server shows Internal Server Error after Installation. When i searched the Net it shows its due to oracle bugs in installing on Pentium 4 machines. Searching for patch...

Recap of 8th Semester Exams...

Exam #1. Parallel Processing and Computing:
For this exam i studied about 700 pages. This was the heavy portion we studied here in this college. But the subject was very interesting. It deals with Parallel Computing concepts. Each unit covers about 7 topics. Each topic had good explanatory answers and examples. I am able to study only 3 units completely and from 2 other units i just studied few selected questions. The question paper was fine and i done it fair.

Exam #2: Multimedia Systems
This subject is also interesting one. Three units are very interesting which deals about compression techniques like mpeg, jpeg etc., Last two units very boring which tells about Multimedia Operating Systems and other stuffs. The question paper is very lengthy. Each question got two subdivisions. Any way i am able to finish the Question paper.

Exam #3: Operating System Design
The subject i like the most, because its my area of interest. I studied superbly for this exam. I left 2 topics Hard Disk Driver and IO software. But my bad time those questions are asked but i wrote some relevant answer. Overall performance is fair (not upto expectation).

Exam #4: Engineering Economics and Management
This subject interesting to study but hard to reproduce in the paper. This paper gives me idea about management techinques. The question paper is easy. But i am not able to recollect points but i wrote what ever comes to my mind.

Exam #5: Network Security (Elective 1)
Very little portion. Question paper is very easy. Among all the subjects i wrote this exam superbly.

Exam #6: Mobile Applications (Elective 2)
Very easy paper to study. This paper gives idea about WML. How JSP, ASP are used in wireless application programming etc., Question paper very lengthy. Question paper covers the entire syllabus. I wrote some what fine.
This is my last theory exam as a UG Student.

Waiting for results which might be on May 6th.

Last Exam Tommorrow

This monday i went to B.Arch Department for getting my photograph taken in the College Day. I found that my photo and few of photos who got medals next to me got exposed. I felt very sad. The college photographer gave me a idea to clip the portion of medal recieving in the College Day Video CD. I went to ECE Department sat there around 3 hours for copying the Video CD ( the system is dead slow ). I watched the Video at Hostel. The camera man initally stood behind the medal winners and was recording. At the time i receive the medal the camera man switched off the camera and changed the direction of Coverage. So my portion is missing in the Video also. So i got no photographs standing with Dr.Venu Srinvasan,Managing Director, Sundaram Motors.

Project Documentation completed || Study Holidays || Started Studying

Last Working Day :-(

Yesterday is the last working day of our college. Also College Day has been conducted yesterday. I am sitting in the auditorium to receive the Medal for the Best Outgoing CSE student while my class mates roamed all over the college. As usual the function didn't started on time. The function's chiefguest was Dr.Venu Srinvasan, Managing Director, Sundaram Motors. His speech was really great. I received a silver medal for him and i feel very happy. After receiving the medal i showed it to Shalinie mam and joined with my class mates for roaming. We all sit at a place and chatted for till 10:30 PM. We spoke how we entered this college and we spent time, likes and dislikes etc., Finally we went saying bye in words alone.

At Hogenakkal

On last Sunday me, my brother, and Uncle's sons from Banglore went to Hogenakkal. We started from home with 5 bikes. We reached Pennagram and had breakfast there. Then we continued riding. In the mountain ranges we travelled slowly enjoying the nature's beauty. At Hogenakkal expect me and my brother every body had oil massage. We are not taken oil massage since one of my relative died few days before and my mom told upto Thursday we cannot take oil bath. The person massaged superbly. Then enjoyed under the waterfalls for around 45 minutes. Then we had lunch (Fish) and started to home again taking photographs all the way.

Today we had Third and final Project Review for Goatee. I speaked about Memory Management server. For the past two days we were at Aravind Baalaji's house for doing some coding works.
We started memory manager coding. The jobs done by memory manager in sequential order
1. Counts the number of Pages in the Physical memory.
2. Allocates a page for creating bitmap for knowing about page availability.
3. Constructs the bitmap.

Today we loaded our GOATEE/ProX in a IBM machine at College and happy to see our OS loaded in a system :-)

Attakasam '05

Attakasam '05 - The Flood Lights cricket match conducted as part of TCE Men's Hostel Day Celebration. One night me and few of my friends where chatting together at mess to decide the name of the Flood Lights cricket match. After few names suggested we decided to name it as Attakasam '05. Initially few of the hostellers who were Vijay fans not accepted the name so we asked them to name. But no one is ready to do it. So we finally decided to name it as so. I didn't done any of the prepration work like buying bat, ball, etc., since i got works at Lab. We planned to conduct the match from Feb 25 th to Feb 28th. Yesterday we inaugurated the match by asking Principal to play a ball. Then the real excitement starts.
This time i played in the team name called Madurai Kuthurai. We had our first match at midnight 12:30 and we won the match.
The match i enjoyed the most is between Gubeer Jolly and First years. The players of Gubeer Jolly are really very funny. They weared vehicle Helmets for playing Tennis ball. Today morning the first match starts from 6:45 AM and i got my next match at Tommorrow morning 7:30 AM.

TCENet Portal Design

We decided to create new portal for our TCENet and we designed it and gave the coding work to our juniors since they are in learning process they are not able to do fast. But shalinie mam is worried about wastage of time. Today mam asked me and ponniah to do the coding work and Joe changed our entire design so the intranet would be more dynamic. Need to code HTML :-( and some alterations in JSP.

Few days before...

Feb 14 was declared as holiday for us. So me and many of my class mates decided to go to some place. We planned to go Alagar kovil hills. We started here on morning in 5 bikes. We reached there around 9 AM. On the way to hills we enjoyed the bike riding. We taken photos while riding . Keyan rode his bike around 80 km per hour. We went to Palamuthircholai and then climbed the hills and taken lot of photographs there. Then we went to Hawa Valley. In the evening we went to Exhibition and Rajaji Park and our journey of the day ends there. It was a nice trip.

GLUGOT Session #12

Today in GLUGOT we had a session on Microkernel development basics handled by Senthil Kumaran. He discussed about Kernel, type of kernel, GRUB Loader, Multiboot kernel and many more. Since its related to my project the session went very interesting for me. This time the strength of the meeting is high around 21 people attended. People from KLN, Southern Railways attended the meeting. Then after the session Joe spoked about Licenses. He told about GPL, MIT, LGPL, BSD etc. Then we watched the movie The Code. A nice picture about the community.

Today marathon was conducted here as part of Sports day activities. Last year also i participated and walked almost 3/4 th of the distance. The total distance is 7.2 km. Today I woke up early in the morning at 4:45 am and went to P.Ed department at 5:15 am. Nearly 400 students are there and then we were taken to the starting spot through our college bus. This year i wished to complete the marathon by running and not by walking. At 6:30 the marathon started, me and ponniah started running very slowly so that we finish entire distance by running. Near Natraj Theatre keyan came with a bike and offered me a ride but i refused and continued running. To my surprise i ran without stopping till Alagappa Nagar then walked around 150 meters. Then started to run again. Finally i reached the end line. I am the #466 to do it. Many peoples came in bus to the college bus stop and ran to the end line :-(
When i completed i feel very happy because i didn't expected that i would complete the distance by running :-)

Today i am blogging after a long time. Just a small description of what happened in last 20 days.
I went home on January 25th for car festival at my native place. Many of my relatives came to the festival and i enjoyed a lot. On the same day my brother got his job in DELL at Bangalore. It adds to enjoyment. On ocassion of my parent's 25th anniversary on January 30 we along with my few class mates went to my aunt's house at Banglore to celebrate it. I presented a Photo frame to my parents. The function was a grand one. I returned to college on Jan 31 and here started the routine work (eating, attending classes, sleeping ). On the same day me and Ponniah was able to run the Bochs and started to code first task. Now we completed some preliminary works on first task.

Today morning i went to all my friends house and ate sweets. I called Sudha and Ranjani to wish (my juniors)them. The shocking news i heard is from 'The Hindu' which says about common placement in TamilNadu. Then Ranjani called me for clarifying whether to attend the placement for Wipro or not. I suggested her to attend. Few of my juniors got worried about the interview. I spoke to them how to face the interview and after that they got some confidence. It nice to see some body got encouraged by me. Gokul gave me and Dinesh a fine treat at Agarwal Bhavan. In the evening me, karthik, Dinesh, Naveen,Ganesh all went to ayya film. We reserved the ticket for the film (first time in Dharmapuri). The film is not so bad and not so good. Atlast i came to know that the placement is for final years and not for third years.

After 52 Days..

Today after 52 days i came back to Dharmapuri. I started from Madurai yesterday around 8:30 PM and reached Dharmapuri today early morning at 4:00 AM. I was the first one to wish my brother for his birthday at 5:00 who came from Chennai. The climate here is much colder than what i expected. In the noon it became very hot. As usual had nice food items through out the day. I showed the offer letter to my parents they became very happy after seeing it. My mother asked me about the lost suitcase. Today i installed Debian Sarge into my cute system. I am searching for the internal modem driver so that i can browse from GNU/Linux.

Last time also i registered but since at that time i was in hostel (on sundays lab will not be opened in college) i am unable to attend the contest. GLUGOT session #11

Today in GLUGOT we had session on "Programming with gtk+ libraries". Nithya handled the Session. She started with basics of gtk+ programming and explained about widgets, signals, events, containers. She gave a example for creating a window and adding widgets, signals to it. The session was really interesting. As usual only few people (around 10) attended the meeting. Since Joe and few junior guys went to Internship at Virtuasa they not able to attend it.

Goatee Project Review 2...

Today after noon we had the project review for Goatee. We prepared the presentation using Openoffice Impress and exported as a PDF. I am very much happy about the presentation since it is done completely with GNU/Linux. I prepared to speak about Process Management Server, Memory Management Server and IPC Server. Arun Ponniah prepared to speak about Mexokernel architecture and First Task. Since Arvind Baalaaji had throat problems we asked them to speak about the Tools used and Modules under consideration. The presentation went good. Only few queries have been asked. We answered the questions. The Review presentation was uploaded in my newly constructing website (which will be completed soon).

On New Year....

This new year not an enjoyable one. Usually we have camp fire at hostel but due to Tsnuami attack we cancelled camp fire. I wished all my friends for the new year. I went to Thiruparankundram temple. My class mate inivited to his home for his parents 25 th Annivesary. Me and my class mate Balaji went to his home and had a nice lunch. That night i saw the film True Lies in Hostel Theatre and Armageddon film at room. Both films are really superb.

Me and my class mates (totally 21) went to kadhal movie yesterday. The film is fine. I liked the small boy working in the mechanic shop. He acted superbly. After the film is over we went to Aparna hotel and had a nice dinner there. When i came back to hostel the time is around 11:30.

Java Hunt Prelims

Got Wipro Offer Letter and my suitcase theft.....

Today I got my Wipro offer letter. I was worried for the past one week since i lost my suitcase in my hostel. After getting the offer letter i became very happy. Thank god the offer letter came late. If it came earlier i would have kept in my suitcase and along with the suitcase the offer letter would be lost. I told both the matter to my parents they feel very happy when told about the offer letter but they started scolding me when i told that the suitcase was lost but they scolded not for losing the suitcase they scolded me for being irresponsible :-(

College Started....

As usual this semester also started. But this semester i got little worries since it is the last semester of my College life. When i entered the class i came to know that College timings have been changed. Before this semester they used to have 45 minutes per hour but now they changed to 55 minutes per hour. Also usually in final semester afternoon classes will be free for doing projects but now due to change in class timings we have first hour in Afternoon which is the hour very hard to sit and listen the class. Anyway we have to sit.

Cyber '04 Dedication work @ Rural schools

As part of Cyber, every year we do some dedication work. This actually started the last year. Last year too my friends went some rural schools and taught the students there some basic knowledge on Computers. This year we went Corporation middle school, D.M.R Middle School, Madurai. It was a real joy being with those student there. We went to the sixth to eigth standard classes. We taught them some basis on computers, some applications and more. They asked some doubts and we tried to clarify them too. The students there were really happy on having us. Many students surrounded me, Keyan and Joe and they asked us that whether we will come daily.I have some sort of joy and satisfaction today.

Succesful Cyber '04

I am very happy that everything in Cyber went good. The wish i made not came real. It started raining at 5:30 AM. Most of the decoration work was spoiled by rain. I came to Auditorium at 7:30 AM. Everything seems to be ready for the Inaugural. I sent volunteers to receive the Chief Guest. At 8:30AM delegates started to enter the Auditorium but due to rain i am not able to get the systems ready for Registration. At 9:00 AM the systems arrived at Auditorium and we started the Registration. Chief Guest Mr.Mathivanan came to the Auditorium by 10:00 AM. Then the function starts. We tried to garland our beloved Principal but he refused it. The Guest Lecture started by 10:30 AM and as per my request Mr.Mathivanan ended the Lecture at 11:30 AM. Then we break for the Tea. We offered Mr.Mathivanan with Travelling Allowance but he refused to get it. Then the contests are started at sharp 11:45 AM. I am roaming here and there to look after whats going on. At afternoon me and my junior Senthilkumaran prepared the Cash Prizes for the Winners. All the contest went superb expect Webdesigning contest. The event coordinators doesnot prepared for that event. i.e, they didn't installed Flash in the systems. Each and every participant asking about it. Then we managed them to do only HTML (a bad thing). Except that all the contests are simply superb. At 5:30PM i started to sign in the Certificates. We invited Principal to attend the Valendictory function but he refused since he was in a meeting. At 7:00 PM the most awaited part of Cyber took place. The Culturals started at K.M. Auditorium. Few of my classmates started shouting when the dance of Final years stopped. Regarding feedback every Participant congratulated us and few told about the Web Designing Contest. I apologized to them. Atlast everything gets completed at 8:00 PM. A grant succesful Cyber. I proud to be General Secretary of a Successful Cyber '04.

Preparation for Cyber

Tommorrow - the great day.... I am preparing for that. I not even find time to update my Blog. I looked at the decorations work. It is nice and superb. Till now there is no rain to spoil the decoration work.( I know, rain at this time is very much neccessary to TamilNadu but my mind ask for no rain on Cyber ). Me and my class mates are roaming in the college to take photographs at Labs and other important places. Thats really enjoyable. Though i felt very sleepy since i am not slept well for past two days, i seem to be fresh when started to take photographs. Then i returned to my work. My friend M.Jeyakumar helped me a lot in various things. Without him i would have suffered a lot. All the juniors are very enthusiastic in doing Cyber work. Every thing seems to ready at this time for the contest.
